You can cancel your ad at any time using the adedit function. If you want us to do it for you, please send us an email email to sales@city-news.com
If you are dissatisfied with your service we allow refunds up to 10 days after you have posted your advertisement.
Erroneous charges or changes to your services are allowed up to 60 days after you have posted your advertisement and a credit will be issued accordingly.
Please notify us when you cancel your ad if you feel that you are owed a refund. All Cities, State/Region and World charges are non-refundable; duration and Keyword charges are prorated and refundable. If you paid via PayPal or Credit Card, we will deduct the service charges before calculating the refund, and we will post the refund to your credit card or PayPal account.
Our Services:
Items include classifieds ads (free and paid), search engine submissions,
FFA links, Event Calendar postings and Chat Room postings.
Here's what you are agreeing to by reading or posting items:
Free Classifieds normally stay visible for about 30 days (less in some cases). If you want a long-term ad or a non-free ad, (900 numbers in Personals, for instance), then select the duration on the ad entry form and include a credit card number, name, etc.
Users agree to add no more than 3 Free classifieds per day, and not to use autoresponders in their email addresses.
Users agree that e-mail from CityNews is not SPAM, and waive all their rights under existing and as-yet-unenacted Federal, State and local laws and regulations to file claims under these laws against CityNews. Users agree irrevocably to receive E-mail from CityNews about their items and about CityNews, and to delete themselves from mailing lists, or pay CityNews a labor charge to remove them.
You must be at least 18 years old to post an item;
No Porn, Chain Letters, Crime of any kind or Defamation, Racism, Violence, Opposition to Gun ownership or to the 2nd amendment,Mercenery or contract soldiering, Fraud, Human body parts, cells or tissue for sale or rent or deliberate posting to the wrong section, or with mis-leading titles, or anything constituting or encouraging conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any local, state,national or international law, or any information, software or other material which violates or infringes upon the rights of others, including material which is an invasion of privacy or publicity rights or which is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right, or derivative works with respect thereto, without first obtaining permission from the owner or right holder. No ads for US employment or real estate that discriminate on the basis of race, religion, age, gender or sexual preference are acceptable. No forging headers or otherwise manipulating identifiers in order to disguise the origin of any content. No adopting of names and addresses for the purpose of cybersquatting.
The Federal Trade Commission has a set of Advertising Rules that you need to follow.
MLM (Amway,etc) ads go only in the MLM section; ditto for Home Business. No fake E-mail addresses. Don't put in your autoresponder as your e-mail address; we'll remove your ads (we bill you, and you agree to pay, $35 per ad that we remove) & you get blocked from use of the site. Ditto for spam -- send us spam & you get blocked, and we will ask your ISP to close your account, and we will pursue other remedies when they are legally available.
All Users (advertisers and readers of the ads) agree that as a material inducement for CityNews to provide this site and the services offered at this site, without which CityNews would not provide such site, use or services, and in consideration for such site, use and services, any user shall, and by using such services does, agree to waive, and hold CityNews harmless from, all claims, causes of action, costs, damages and liabilities arising from or relating to the site and the use of or inability to use the site. Users agree (as is demonstrated by their use of the service) to indemnify, defend and hold harmless CityNews against any claims (including Libel or slander or taxes of all kinds) arising from their use of, or inability to use, the service. All users submit to personal jurisdiction and agree that the laws and courts of Washoe County, Nevada including the Federal Court based in Washoe County, are the appropriate forum for resolution of any and all disputes arising from their use of CityNews.
Use of these web pages shall be governed by and construed under the laws
of the state of Nevada without reference to its conflict of law
principles. In the event of any conflicts between foreign law, rules,
and regulations, and Nevada law, rules, and regulations, Nevada law,
rules and regulations shall prevail and govern. The United Nations
Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods shall not
apply to this License. If for any reason a court of competent
jurisdiction finds any provision of these Rules or portion thereof, to
be unenforceable, that provision of the Rules shall be enforced to the
maximum extent permissible so as to effect the intent of the parties,
and the remainder of these Rules shall continue in full force and
effect, and the court will reword and enforce the disallowed part so as
to retain the original intent, in so far as is possible, without statutory
presumptions against the drafter.
Users agree that regardless of any statute or law to the contrary, any claim
or cause of action arising out of or related to use of the Service or to the
Terms of Service must be filed within one (1) week after such claim or cause
of action arose or be forever barred.
CityNews is not to be used in any area where the specific disclaimers made herein are unenforeceable, and users warrant that their local legal systems support CityNews's disclaimers in full, and that they are fully bound by the terms, conditions & disclaimers herein.
In no case shall CityNews be liable for more than the cost of the advertisement, nor is CityNews responsible for any events that occur beyond its control, including but not limited to: earthquakes, network failures and government actions. All Users (including Chat users) agree to further indemnify and defend CityNews through any and all appelate courts, with the User paying any bonds required for CityNews. In the event that Citynews is defeated at the Supreme Court or World Courts, Users agree to fund CityNews' lobbying of Congress and/or other legislative bodies to reverse unfavorable laws or treaties retroactively.
Advertisers agree that they are solely responsible for collecting and remitting any and all applicable sales or use taxes, value-added taxes, import duties and any other fees imposed by any government agency with jurisdiction over the buyer, seller or means of transportation. Advertisers agree to jointly and severally indemify, defend and hold City News, Inc harmless in any action by any taxing authority brought against City News based on the advertisers advertisement in City News.
CityNews provides this site free of charge and undertakes no responsibility to screen or review any items that appear as a result of its use. CityNews assumes no responsibility or liability for the content of any advertisement that appears, and provides this site without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Each user is responsible for complying with the rules of use.
CityNews expressly disclaims any and all warranties, express or implied, as to the truthfulness of the ads, and specifically disclaims any and all express or implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for any particular purpose or use. CityNews shall have no liability for the accuracy of the information contained in the service, or the content of any ad, or for any action taken based on any ad.
CityNews shall not be liable to any other party or any third-party for third-party claims or losses of any nature, including, but not limited to, taxes, lost profits, punitive or consequential damages.
CityNews reserves the right to remove any item at any time time, to block postings by any user, and to discontinue or modify this service without warning.
Advertisers who order paid ads from City News, Inc agree to pay the cost of collections, including legal fees and court costs, should it be necessary for City News to turn their billing over to a collection agency or attorney for collection. Circumstances where City News will do so include, but are not limited to, declined credit cards unresolved after 2 days and accounts due over 30 days. Advertisers agree to pay the highest interest rate allowed by law on overdue balances, and on balances turned over to collection agencies or attorneys. Advertisers agree to waive all defenses against CityNews. Advertisers who are California residents waive California Civil Code Section 1542, which says 'A general release does not extend to claims which the creditor does not know or suspect to exist in his favor at the time of executing the release, which, if known by him must have materially affected his settlement with the debtor.' Advertisers living in other states waive any similar provisions in their state or national laws.
Advertisers who pay by credit card or check - if the credit card is declined or the check is returned, there is a $35 fee added to the bill. Understand please that the bank charges us a fee that we have to pass along to you.
CityNews expressly disclaims any and all warranties, express or implied, as to the software and server used to provide this service, and specifically disclaims any and all express or implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for any particular purpose or use. CityNews shall have no liability for the performance of the software or server.
Privacy Policy
By posting messages, uploading files, inputting data, or engaging in any other form of communication through this service, you are granting City News, Inc. a royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive, unrestricted, worldwide license to Use, copy, sublicense, adapt, transmit, publicly perform or display any such communication, and to sublicense to third parties the unrestricted right to exercise any of the aforementioned rights granted with respect to the communication. These grants shall include the right to exploit any proprietary rights in such communication, including but not limited to rights under copyright, trademark, servicemark or patent laws under any relevant jurisdiction.
